New feature on the blog: bitcoin payment codes

Yesterday I took some time to download the latest version of the Samourai Bitcoin Wallet and register my new bitcoin payment code on their website paymentcode.io. I have started going through my back-catalog of blog posts and adding the payment code so people can send me tips if they like the content. You can see an example of what this looks like at the bottom of this post.

I have been interested in the idea of “stealth addresses” since they were first proposed several years ago and later implemented in Dark Wallet, and am glad to see the concept live on in the Samourai wallet in the form of BIP47 Reusable Payment Codes. Definitely check it out if you are interested in preserving your financial privacy while using bitcoin. Be aware that Samourai is still in alpha so manage your expectations accordingly.
